A Very Private Photo Essay
Meg came and went & photographed it beautifully.😂
Twelve pictures went up on Meghan’s Instagram account. Some black and white. Some colour.
Again backs of heads featured prominently. Sun in the hair. No faces. One childhood shot of Lili entirely from behind, like a very tasteful witness protection scheme.
There is a dinner table. There is a beach. There is a small girl walking beside her mother, filmed from the rear.
The light is soft. The framing is okay. Somebody seems knows what they are doing with a camera.
Another frame shows the front of a Portuguese fish restaurant. The location was not confirmed. But it didn’t need to be.
Another shows the back of Harry and a boy - Archie - carrying a bouquet of flowers.
It is not captioned Althorp. Everything said Althorp.
Deeply private, the whole thing screamed. But it was there for her public to see.
So they were here. Quiet, but here. That ends a fortnight of people insisting otherwise.
Privacy is a serious principle. It has been argued at law, at length, at cost. It has been defended by men in expensive wigs.
Then there is timing.
The King and Queen arrived at the Commonwealth Games in a police box. Dr Who’s Tardis. A good gag, beautifully done, months in the planning.
They were upstaged by Meg again.
One day we will see the children’s faces.
Just Not yet.

“A whole childhood shot from the rear, like a very tasteful witness protection scheme.”
Superb assessment.
And a day after the release of photos & a video celebrating George’s 13th birthday...🤔
